About Ryan
Mr.
Marquez is a native Houstonian. He obtained
his Bachelors of Business Administration with a major in accounting from the
University of Houston. He received his
Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Houston Law Center.
While in law school, Mr. Marquez participated in both the Transaction Clinic and the Civil Clinic as a student attorney. As part of the Transactional Clinic, Mr. Marquez assisted, under attorney supervision, in matters such as business formation, drafting of leases, and general business legal advice. In the Civil Clinic, Mr. Marquez assisted with divorces, child custody, and probate issues including assisting with trials and hearings. During law school, Mr. Marquez assisted in the publication of the Houston Business and Tax Law Journal by serving as a member then Articles Editor.
Upon graduation, Mr. Marquez, through a post-graduate fellowship, interned at the Texas 14th Court of Appeals where he assisted with drafting opinions and conducting research for various criminal and civil issues. He then worked for a local nonprofit law firm where he had a varied practice. Though Mr. Marquez focused primarily in consumer, landlord/tenant, and real estate law, he also has had some experience with family, probate, bankruptcy and administrative law matters. Mr. Marquez has had substantial experience trying cases before the courts of Harris County as well as some state appellate court and federal court experience as well. As such, Mr. Marquez will not shy away from court if necessary to resolve your legal issue.
